Kate is dedicated to balancing her busy life by combining mindfulness with her love of nature photography.
Whenever she has a spare moment, she heads off for a walk around the neighbourhood or in her own backyard with her camera and finds her happy place amongst the flowers and the bees.
She's passionate about capturing the beauty in details other people may not even notice, such as the texture on a leaf, dappled light through trees, or the sparkle of raindrops. She loves to highlight beauty in the unexpected... weeds, wilting flowers, and spiderwebs are an irresistable challenge for her.
Kate also loves the editing process and finds nothing more relaxing that a quiet cup of tea while editing her flower photos.
On this workshop, Kate is excited to share this world with you, and show you the techniques she uses to capture the beauty of nature. her favourite lenses, different ways to inject creativity, and how she brings magic to her images when the light isn't working.

Kate McKenna is a CLG Advanced Grad based in Melbourne, Australia. She is a mum-of-three and works full time as a lawyer.
She completed the CLG Enthusiast and Advanced Courses 4 years ago, and while doing so discovered a passion for nature photography.
As a busy working mum, Kate doesn’t have a lot of time to herself, but she prioritises self-care by combining her love of nature photography with the practice of mindfulness.
She doesn’t need to wait for the perfect conditions. Kate understands how to get photos in different weather and lighting conditions, and to capture interesting compositions walking around the neighbourhood or in her backyard.
Kate is excited to invite you into her world, introduce you to mindfulness photography as a way to balance family and work life, and reconnect with yourself!
