In this workshop, we'll show you how!
Because if you've ever admired beautiful, crisp and detailed macro flower photography.. and wished you could take images like that yourself... now is the time to dive right in!
Or perhaps you already enjoy macro photography, but you'd love to be inspired to stretch yourself creatively and learn some new tips and tricks for improving?
During this workshop, CLG Mentor Mel Champion will take us behind the scenes to share her processes, lighting, shooting and editing techniques for capturing awe inspiring macro photography of flowers and nature.
This is an online, hands on workshop designed to help you pick up your camera and push yourself creatively, to try new skills or polish up your existing skills in a positive and fun learning environment.
You love to be inspired and try new skills, and you're excited to try (or further refine) shooting macro flower photography in a range of styles.
You're ready for a creative challenge to help you pick up your camera and take part in a fun and inspiring month of shooting, without needing to go to fancy locations or wait til specific times of the day (hint: this genre is very flexible).
You want to grow your photography skills in a supportive group environment and have access to instructors to ask questions and share your work.
Join us for a 4 week, online workshop, to help you explore your creativity and build confidence playing with the genre of macro photography.
A new lesson will be released weekly, with examples, explanations and visual guides... and most importantly a hands-on challenge to get out and shoot!
Best of all you'll be part of an online group working through the lessons together, with instructor support from Mel and Louise... to share your images, ask questions, and be inspired by your Click Love Grow community,
Do I need a macro lens? This is a great question... and the answer is no! This workshop can be taken even with your regular lens collection, because many techniques we talk about can be applied using those. Or if you want to experiment with macro without committing to a new lens, then the lens extension tubes are a fantastic option for cheap.
Will this teach me camera settings and how to shoot in manual mode? This workshop is focused on expanding creative skills, and while we will talk about some settings used, it won't cover the step-by-step on how the settings work together or how to shoot confidently in manual. If you're not there yet, check out our Enthusiast Photography Course.
Places are limited and we will begin with Lesson #1 on the 1st of July
Mel Champion is our guest CLG Mentor, specialising in macro and floral photography. She lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband and 3 children and adorable pup Hugo who features in our video shots above. Mel took our Enthusiast & Advanced Courses several years ago and has since become known for her stunning, intricate, and beautifully lit macro photos of flowers... and her favourites, wilting blooms.
Mel loves macro photography because of the images she can create from seemingly ordinary flowers, but also because of how it really slows her down to be present in the moment.
During this workshop Mel will be sharing 4 weeks of lessons on different aspects of macro photography, how she sets up and shoots, works with light, and edits her final images.
