CLG Celebration Week is just around the corner! This is a time when we celebrate our amazing Grads and their achievements, and invite them to share stories about their CLG experience with our broader community.
And the best bit?
In appreciation of your contributions, for every story you share – whether it’s a Facebook post, a reel, a story, whatever – you have a chance to win a Creative Workshop every day, and the coveted Click Love Grow Golden Ticket! Oh and to sweeten the deal even more, this year we also have some Lensbaby vouchers to giveaway!
Win a Golden Ticket!
The Golden Ticket is an amazing prize we love to give away, as the lucky winner is gifted a spot on every Creative Workshop for an entire year… that’s a whole lotta learning and creativity to boost your photography!
So today I’m excited to introduce you 4 previous golden tickets winners Donna Weir, Bria Anderson, Sophie Green and Rebecca Wilson! I’ve asked them to share with you what it felt like to win such an amazing prize, and what it did for their photography…
Bria Anderson
Winning a Golden Ticket to a year of CLG workshops was an unbelievable feeling! I re-played the video of Lou saying my name many times, just to make sure it was really happening!
The most exciting thing was anticipating all of the knowledge I would be able to soak up and the new skills I would begin to understand because every workshop has nuggets of brilliance within.
It’s hard to pick just one favorite, but if I had to be most thankful for any it would be Documenting Family Life with Heidi Talic. She stressed the importance of picking up the camera with the moment as is and capturing the memory, no matter what the rest looks like. Heidi also prompted us to get in the frame with our kids and I was able to grab some every day beautiful memories because of her workshop.
Sophie Green
I am a bit of a workshop addict so winning the Golden Ticket for this year was a dream come true!
I did the Enthusiast and Advanced courses in 2018/2019 which really taught me the skills I needed in photography. Then the workshops have all helped me develop my own style.
I’ve been able to take little bits from each to get to where I am now. I am starting a business with two sides – family photography and food photography. So Morvern Shaw’s Environmental Fine Art and Naomi Sherman’s Beautiful Food workshops have really helped me with this. I had an a-ha moment during Morvern’s workshop where I could actually picture the way I wanted my family photos to look then plan and excute it.
Donna Weir
I am the most recent Golden Ticket winner and still benefiting from my amazing luck!! It is the most incredible feeling to have won a golden ticket (after getting past the disbelief).
As a mumtog my dedication to my photography waxes and wanes depending what life throws at me, but the CLG workshops bring me back to doing what I love every time!
There is always a new skill to discover and a new voice that can help you “get” something you didn’t before and help you learn from their perspective.
Heidi Talic’s Baby workshop and Merissa Wakefield’s Beautiful Backlight workshop are two that have stuck with me. But my favourite workshop was Contemporary Portraits with Bronwyn Pickering… it was like I didn’t know what I needed until I found it and I incorporate her techniques almost every time I shoot portraits of my daughter, injecting that little bit of creativity.
My other favourite would have to be Discovering Photoshop with Emma Davis. I had tried before to learn Photoshop with no luck and Emma’s explanations were so accessible and easy to understand and she was able to answer every question thrown at her in detail! That addition of Photoshop to my skillset has taken my abilities a step further. I think CLG has a workshop to suit every photographer and there are thousands of community members out there around the world to support you, inspire you and befriend. I guess you could call me a CLG workshop addict – and my wallet definitely thanks that lucky ticket!
Most of these photos were taken during the workshops, or at least using the skills I’ve gathered!
Rebecca Wilson
I loved all of the workshops, but I would have to say that the Discovering Photoshop workshop with Emma Davis was my favorite. It was exciting watching the live drawing and when my name was picked for the Golden Ticket I just sat there in disbelief.
I was so excited and actually started shouting to my husband I won, I won. Then I started crying because I was so over whelmed.
I loved the workshops because they were broken down into four separate lessons. So you could spend the whole week reading each section and being able to practice with the information you just learned. Then I would watch the videos several times and no matter which week you were on, you could always go back and refresh if you forgot something.
Having the instructor and other ladies in the group was wonderful because if you posted a question there were so many responses! And you could also read what others were asking and take in so much information.
The support system is just amazing! I know there is so much more to learn but through the workshops it’s given me so much confidence.
Tht confidence has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and opened my own photography business which I had wanted to do for years but never had the courage to do. I am so grateful for everyone who works so hard to put these workshops and this group together. It’s been a wonderful experience for me.
