Our students often ask me if they have what it takes to be a great photographer, and I know that question comes from a feeling of self-doubt. The fact is, your ability to be an amazing photographer is actually inside of you.

If you’ve already mastered the basics, and want to learn how to take your skills to the next level, there’s no magic to it.

On our Advanced Photography Course, we will take your photography to the next level through detailed how-to tutorials that walk you step-by-step through the high level skills and techniques, magical and dramatic light, and artistic compositional techniques and that make the most difference to your shots.

And with that… please meet lovely Lauren Green! She’s an Advanced Grad from Canberra, mama to 3 crazy beautiful boys aged 6, 4 and 2, and she works nights in order to free her up to run her brand new photography business (in between taking care of her boy tribe!). Before taking our Advanced Course, she couldn’t have imagined having the courage to take that leap… but she did!

 

When Something Is Missing

I had mastered manual mode on my camera and I became great at taking really good, flat light images of my kids. But soon I began to think “hmmm… I want something more… something is missing”.

I really wanted to explore backlighting, rim light and directional light, so I joined CLG’s Advanced Photography Course as they cover all of those topics in depth.

Learning to Read Light

The light module really built on the skills I’d gained in the Enthusiast Course, as we explored a broad range of intricate and dynamic lighting options.

I learned how to read light and how to work with it to get the images I had pictured in my mind’s eye.

In other words, it gave me the skills to bring life to my images through light alone!

Mad Skills and More

I’ve taken away so much more than photography skills from doing the courses.

I’ve recently started a photography business (eek) Wild Muse Photography, and I would not have been able to do that without Click Love Grow.

Undertaking the Advanced Course gave me the confidence to do it. They built me up in a way that I felt so capable… I was never discouraged or put down in any way at all, the uplifting community is AMAZING. They helped me understand my equipment, including what lenses are best for a specific type of image, and that it’s not always about having the BEST gear.

I came away from the course really confident with different lighting situations, with an eye to compose a really great image, and I knew how to plan and execute a vision for a photo session – so in every respect, I felt ready.

I’m also able to capture and document my kids childhood in a visually beautiful manner that tells the whole story of their childhood… I never could have imagined I could achieve this!

Feeding The Soul

If that wasn’t enough, it’s been an incredible creative outlet for me! It’s something I can work on and work towards at my own pace, whilst still feeling productive, because it works well around my kids and home life.

I’ve also made a lot of new supportive and inspiring friends through CLG’s community of students and grads.

I love the community at Click Love Grow. The uplifting support from the instructors and other students on the course and afterwards in the Grad’s group is amazing!

There is so much kindness! I truly believe that’s what sets CLG apart from any other course!

Also the regular critiquing by instructors of my images was invaluable. It really helps you grow because you learn exactly what you’re doing wrong, what you’re getting right, and what you need to improve on. And how to do it!

Add to that the course is structured in such a flexible way, it’s easy to learn around your daily tasks.
