The Click Love Grow community have rallied around for Daffodil Day and flooded Instagram with a sea of yellow! To date there are over 150 beautiful images with the hashtag #photographers4daffodilday.
Friday 28th of August is Daffodil Day in Australia and New Zealand, a day to acknowledge the affects of cancer on our community and to raise funds for life saving cancer research. Every four minutes an Australian is diagnosed with cancer, and every day 63 New Zealander’s will hear the words “you have cancer”. The Cancer Council and its state based organisations and the Cancer Society in New Zealand provide vital public health education to prevent cancer, support people with cancer and fund research into cancer diagnosis and treatment.
But they need your help, especially this year when so many fundraising initiatives have been postponed because of Covid-19.
Merissa Wakefield, one of our talented Click Love Grow grads and instructor, works in Cancer Prevention at the Cancer Council in Victoria and wanted to spread the word among her photography networks, posting yellow themed images to social media throughout August with the #photographers4daffodilday. It was particularly important to get innovative – Victoria is in the midst of a Coronavirus lockdown and all face to face fundraising for Daffodil Day was cancelled.
Thank you in anticipation of your support to this important cause, in whatever way you can. Please enjoy this bright and sunshiny collection of yellow themed images taken by our talented CLG grads specifically in recognition of Daffodil Day 2020!
