Antje Whyte is a Click Love Grow Grad who was in that exact place just last year. She did our Enthusiast Photography Course and she was happy with her images when she graduated, but she was soon craving more. She wanted to find her style and take stunning photos.

So she dived into our Advanced Photography Course, and says it was the best thing she’s ever done for her photography.

Meet Antje

Hi, my name is Antje. I am originally from Northern Germany and have travelled to various countries through my younger years. Fourteen years ago on my travels around Australia I met my farmer husband whilst working in a country pub in Western Australia. Talk about real country romance! Today we have three beautiful children aged 10, 8 and 4.

A Creative Outlet for a SAHM

I have learnt to enjoy the remote and sometimes challenging country life. Photography has played an important role in overcoming some of the struggles of being a stay at home mum in rural Western Australia. It is my creative outlet and adds some excitement to the everyday.

My children are my biggest inspiration but macro photography is a very close second.

A Creative Yearning

My journey in photography started when I was gifted my first DSLR camera 5 years ago. I remember being super excited about taking quality photos of my children. But I realised quickly my simple point and shoot approach did not produce the images I had envisioned. I tried to teach myself to shoot in manual mode but struggled and was quite overwhelmed at times.

Luckily I came across Click Love Grow in 2021 and signed up for one of the creative workshops. I absolutely loved it and that led me to sign up for the Enthusiast Photography Course in 2022.

I became very comfortable in manual mode and gained the foundations of light and composition. At this stage I was very pleased with my photos but I was still very eager to keep learning especially on a creative level.

I knew that the Advanced Photography Course would be my ticket to really elevate my work, find my own individual style and be able to create stunning photographs.

Advanced Skills & Confidence

The lessons and assignments really pushed me out of my comfort zone.

I had so many aha moments throughout the course – it provided me with the skills and confidence to take photos even in difficult scenarios.

From achieving a creative exposure to learning about tone and key in the first lesson, the moments of enlightenment kept coming, especially during the light lesson (no pun intended!).

It changed the way I see, read and interpret light. I absolutely love creating dramatic portraits full of contrast, interest and mood. Something I would have never been able to achieve before the Advanced Course.
