Here at Click Love Grow we specialise in teaching flexible, easy to follow and fun online photography courses, and if you’ve been looking at our course options you’ll know that we offer both a beginner and an advanced level class.
And you might be wondering, which of these two courses is right for you? Infact this is a question I get asked all the time, and it makes total sense to want to pick the best option to help you progress your skills and which will suit where you’re at right now!
So in this post I want to let you know exactly how to work out which course is right for you and compare the two programs on what we cover and the skills that you’ll learn.
So the simply version of the answer is this:
If you are brand new to photography, and you have never shot in manual mode before, then the Enthusiast Course is perfect for you!
BUT if you are mostly comfortable in manual mode, you can achieve a well balanced exposure, you’re set on the foundations of good light and composition, and you’re ready to really elevate your work to the next level, then the Advanced Course is perfect for you!
And what you’re a little in the middle?
Have a read of these explanations and see which would suit you best… remembering that we are very flexible! If you start one course and realise that the other would have been a better fit, we’re able to swap you and defer any places if necessary to help you best meet your goals!
This is the course for you if you’re:
This is where we lay the foundations of photography and we very specifically teach how to shoot in Manual Mode! It’s all about:
Knowing How to Create a Great Exposure
We will walk you through exactly what all the settings do, how they impact your exposure AND how they allow you to get creative with your photos!
Building Confidence in The Moment
You’ll learn about light and composition and the big role they play in creating consistent images and how to use them all the time
Take Beautiful Portraits (of your kids, grandkids, furkids)
Portraits are a skill that can be learned, and we will show you the exact stes and techniques you need to shoot candid, natural and beautiful portraits!
And so much more… we also cover landscapes, storytelling, editing… all the fun stuff!
The Enthusiast Course is fully online, with lessons in both written and video format, delivered weekly over 8 weeks. Each lesson comes with a fun hands on challenge so you can practice the skills learned, then get detailed feedback from instructors so you know what you’re getting right, and what you need to improve (and how to do it!).

But we get loads of love from students telling us all of this and more, so we’ll let them do the talking! Oh and check out their before and after shots! Wowsers!
“The same gorgeous kid… however the difference is Click Love Grow! I’ve always been so busy being a mum, working and life in general, but having a creative outlet, something that is just for me and that I love doing, makes me happy and clears my head. It’s never a second thought paying for those activities for our kids, but we feel guilt spending on ourselves!
The best money I have ever spent is not on camera gear, but investing in my knowledge and taking the courses and workshops CLG offer!” ~ Bek Alexander
“The top pictures were taken before the Enthusiast Course, and I can’t believe the difference… my husband thought I took the bottom pictures with a different camera!
I’m so happy with how much this class has taught me, and I love that I have grown in my confidence!” ~ Desiree Wade
“I’ve seen a lot of people ask if the Enthusiast Course is worth it. I never truly understood manual mode, but Louise breaks it down into easy to understand lessons, and weekly assignments to help you master the skills being taught.
It’s so valuable… invest in yourself and take the course – you won’t regret it!” ~ Tandra Nicole
This is the course for you if you’re:
Now if that resonates for you, then you are ready for the next steps… and that’s the Advanced Course. It’s all about:
Increasing Your Confidence!
If you’re ready to push yourself, gain more confidence with your camera, and to dive even deeper into the world of beautiful photography!
Technical Concepts Made Relevant!
We take the technical elements of advanced photography and break it down into relevant and useful lessons that will offer you greater tools and understanding.
Creating Your Vision & Seeing it Through!
We will focus on creating a vision, and then bringing it to life through enhanced composition, lighting, posing and post processing that suits the image.
And so much more…
Just like the Enthusiast Course, our Advanced Course is fully online, with 5 in depth modules and challenges delivered every second week over 10 weeks. You get even more detailed feedback from instructors on your photos so you know exactly what you need to do to elevate your photos to the level you crave.

I can’t even count how many Advanced Grads have said the Advanced Course was a game changer for them! In her customer story, one of our students, Charlie O’Neill, said…
“You know the quote ‘Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist’? Well, for me, the Enthusiast Course taught me rules, while the Advanced Course taught me to break them like an artist.”
Check out what other students have said about the Advanced Course…
“I took the Advanced Course and it was a game changer.
I used to avoid challenging light situations and I never shot indoors unless I had to. Occasions like birthdays and Christmas would leave me feeling totally deflated and uninspired. But the Advanced Course taught me how to harness challenging light situations, and a whole different way of seeing potential images.
As a hobbyist it was an investment, but it became a little side business as friends and acquaintances sought me out for paid projects and that more than paid for the course. Many thanks to Lou and all the instructors, you are amazing! ” ~ Pam Gosenheimer
“Thinking about doing the Advanced Course? Should you invest in yourself? Absolutely!!
This course will give you the know-how and confidence to shoot in all situations. You will be able to use your camera with purpose and capture what you envision. The feedback, guidence and support is priceless.
If you feel that you want to know more than just your camera settings, this is the course to do. As soon as I graduated I went straight into shooting professionally… you can do what you dream to do to!” ~ Brooke Hampson
“For those of you considering the Advanced Course and still on the fence, I am here to say absolutely, positively go for it! I was feeling a lot happier with my camera settings when I finished the Enthusiast Course, but I felt like I needed safe, even lighting to get a good image.
I would never shoot inside my house in winter, but the Advanced Course gave me the skills to shoot in all types of light, at all times of the day. I can now capture my kids playing wherever they are, inside or out, and I am not missing those moments. So do it, do it, do it!!!” ~ Claire Roads
