We put everyone else first, and later never seems to come.

And specifically with respect to learning photography, we hear a LOT of stories from our students of procrastinating until they’re “ready”, “better”, “more advanced”.

But the truth is the longer you wait, the more opportunities you miss to refine your skills, uncover your creative potential, and ultimately, capture those beautiful photos that make your heart sing.

Hillary Meyer is a CLG Grad who felt that way, until she asked herself the question… “what am I waiting for?”.

Meet Hillary

I’m a mom of two humans and two fur babies, married for 19 years. I am a New Jersey native now living in Florida. Besides photography I love reading, running and hanging with my kids and hubs.

There was a gap of a few years between taking the Enthusiast Course and the Advanced Course. I wish I taken it sooner after Enthusiast… it would have been nice to be able to be where I’m at a little faster!

Waiting For… What?

After taking the Enthusiast Course but before I took the Advanced, I thought my photos were just ok. I had started my own photography business, but I really wanted to be a better photographer and take amazing pictures

I knew I could do more, and I felt I needed to keep developing my technical skills. But as a busy mom, photography always stayed on a back burner.

Then one day I asked myself “why do I keep waiting? I want to do this and I want to do it now”.

So I jumped into the Advanced Photography Course.

 

My Biggest Takeaways

The light module was huge for me! Learning the part it plays in photography and how it can affect pictures really spoke to me.

I started taking better pictures, and I was able to start charging more and I got a lot more exposure and clients after the course.

I now know how to use light to create a mood, vibe or an emotion.
