The Enthusiast Photography Course gives you the foundations of manual mode, basic light and composition so you can take a good photo. But once we’ve mastered those essential skills, most of us find ourselves craving the next steps.
For some people, it’s about identifying those indefineable elements that bring the magic to photos so they can do it on purpose.
And for others, the next steps in their photography learning is also about developing a consistent style.
And that’s where the Advanced Photography Course comes in.
If you can relate, and you’ve been wondering what the course will do for you, today I want to introduce you to gorgeous Advanced Grad Kellsie Read. She said the Advanced Course helped her define her style, and she’s generously taken the time to share her experience with you…
Meet Kellsie
I’m a stay at home mom of three (ages 3, 7 and 8) living in Panama City, Florida. I found Click Love Grow in 2019 while looking for online photography courses. I completed both the Enthusiast and Advanced courses in 2020 and 2021 along with several workshops. I love documenting my kids’ childhood through lifestyle and documentary photography.
I Was Ready For The Next Steps
Before I took the Advanced Photography Course, I felt “okay” with my photos. I had finished the Enthusiast Photography Course and learned how to properly use my DSLR camera, and my photos were already better than before, but there was something missing.
I could shoot in soft light, but I was ready for more challenging lighting, I was craving more consistency in my photos, and I wanted to find my style.
I was drawn to images that are bold, dark and moody but I didn’t know how to achieve that style.
So between my love of progress and knowing I had so much more to learn, signing up for the Advanced Course was a no-brainer.

I Learned So Much From Every Lesson
I learned so much from each module that it’s hard to choose a favourite. But the first one – Advanced Exposure – had the biggest impact on my photos.
The High & Low Key lesson in this module was where I really started to develop my individual style.
I learned how to read my camera’s EV meter more accurately and the histogram to achieve my desired exposure in camera. Once this was solidified in my brain, everything else about light and shooting in different types of light made sense.
Finding My Style & Confidence
Since taking the Advanced course, I feel SO much better about my photos!
I found my style during the Advanced Course and achieved that consistency I was striving for.
Now, I don’t panic or give up when the lighting isn’t perfect. In fact, I now really enjoy shooting in low light and creating low key images. With the skills I gained during the course, I have more flexibility with creativity and the confidence to experiment more.
My Biggest Takeaway
There are sooo many takeaways from the Advanced Course. But for me the biggest one was the importance of nailing your shot in camera to make your life a whole lot easier when producing your final image. The course teaches all the steps needed to find the best light, and expose properly for that light using the most desirable composition.
Why You Should Join The Advanced Photography Course
If you are even thinking about taking the Advanced Course, you know that you haven’t reached your full potential in your photography journey.
This course is how you can unlock those doors to succeed, whether it be technically, creatively or confidently.
And it will help you find your style and give you the confidence to establish your identity as a photographer rather than just someone who takes good photos.
The Click Love Grow Difference
I love how this course is presented. The lessons are broken down and delivered in a manner that is easy to comprehend and allow for maximum retention.
The pace is slow enough that I could complete each lesson with adequate time to practise (even as a busy mom of three).
Lou and the other instructors were so fantastic and always available in the group to answer questions or give feedback on an image.
I also love that I have become and remain virtual friends with several of my course mates.
