Watching photos being professionally critiqued is such a fantastic way to learn, even when it’s not your image. It’s such a valuable tool for growth, and it’s not about negativity, but about providing constructive feedback in a supportive way (which is how we roll!).
In this video, I share insights from my latest image critiquing session with the Click Love Grow community, with all images coming from Grads or members.

Image Critique #1: Imogen Burden
Feedback
I love the vibrant colors, the playful moment, and the strong technical execution in Imogen’s image.
Suggestions
Adjust the perspective by shooting from a lower angle to include more sky and accentuate the size of the slide.
This change in perspective could enhance the composition and draw the viewer’s eye to the key elements.

Image Critique #2: Lauren Vania
Feedback
Lauren’s portrait beautifully captures the warm, late-day light, and I’m really drawn to the captivating expression of the subject. She has fantastic catchlights in her eyes, and the light is soft and even which works so well for a portrait like this.
Suggestions
Consider stepping back slightly to avoid a cramped frame, while maintaining the overall strong composition and post-processing.

Image Critique #3: Rachel Todd
Feedback
Rachel’s use of vibrant colors and harsh midday light works so well and helps bring those colours to life. It’s a great storytelling image, nice and sharp with good exposure.
Suggestions
Angle the camera to bring the line of the bench a little lower in the frame and anchor them using the rule of thirds
Straighten the bench line to strengthen the composition and maintain clean, straight lines
Emphasizes the impact that attention to structural elements can have on the overall impact of an image

Image Critique #4: Paula Jean
Feedback
I love the older sibling’s hand on the baby’s head, it adds a beautiful sense of connection. There’s lots of light and adds beautiful catchlights in their eyes, and I love the colour at the top and bottom of the frame.
Suggestions
Use a deeper depth of field to make sure both of their eyes are in sharp focus.
By adjusting your aperture setting, you can control what’s in focus.
