Advanced Photography Course Customer Stories

Kate Rankin embarked on our Enthusiast Photography Course with the simple desire to take better photos of her kids. But in her words, the course left her hungry for more, and it opened a Pandora’s box of a world of photography that ultimately changed her life!

Today I had the pleasure of chatting live in our Grad’s group to the lovely Kate, who lives near Byron Bay in NSW, Australia with her husband and her kids Willow, Evie and Eli, aged between 10 and 4 years.

For Kate, the Enthusiast Course taught her how to use her camera in manual mode, and she mastered the fundamentals of light and compositional skills… but once the course finished she felt so ready for more!

She soon realised the only next step was learning even more, and the Advanced Photography Course was the natural choice because she loved the way CLG courses were run, and the supportive and non-judgemental community.

The Advanced Photography Course gave her so many a-ha moments, that she began seeing the world through a photographer’s eyes. It gave her the courage to push the boundaries of her style and abilities, to use different techniques to achieve different outcomes intentionally, and propelled her growth as a photographer very rapidly.

We love sharing a before and after photos from our grads, as it’s the best way to highlight how the course changes their photos. This first shot was taken before Kate started with CLG, and the photos that follow it were all taken after she graduated from the Advanced Photography Course.
