“I don’t want to be a professional photographer… is it for me?”.
If you’re a creative soul at heart… having an art thing that you can be good at is immeasurably good for the heart and soul. And what I love most about photography as an art form is there’s always room to grow and improve. There’s always new styles to experiment with, interesting ways to use light, different genres to explore, endless ways to express yourself creatively.
So if you take up photography purely as a hobby… wouldn’t you want to be as good as you can be, and explore all that it has to offer?
And that brings me to our subject for this blog post!
Today I want to introduce you to Megan O’Donnell. She lives in NSW, Australia with her husband and two gorgeous but loud boys (Megan’s words!), who she loves to capture in a documentary style.
She’s not interested in turning photography into a career, and never was. But she did love it enough to want to hone her skills to take the most beautiful photos of her boys and their childhood that she could…
Art for art sake…
I didn’t have any desire to pursue photography as a professional career, but I always wanted to have a go (at photography).
I am so glad that I took a chance and jumped in to the CLG courses, as photography is such a wonderful creative outlet!
I was always drawn to the documentary style, and I wanted to learn how to create that kind of imagery. I wanted to understand how to work with shadows and low light, and capture character and emotion.
A yearning to learn
The Enthusiast Photography Course had been so clear and informative that I just couldn’t wait to take the next step by joining the Advanced Course. I hoped to take what I’d already learned to the next level, and learn the skills necessary to capture my boys more creatively, in the style I envisioned.
Shooting with purpose!
I have seen a big improvement in my photography skills since taking the course. I’m now using my photography to purposefully capture creative photos of my children, and along way I discovered that I love portraits!
I feel like I’m achieving my goals and I certainly couldn’t have done it without Click Love Grow.
I wouldn’t have known where to start without the Advanced Course!
I absolutely loved the lessons on advanced exposure… they were just what I needed given the kind of low light, documentary style photos I wanted to learn how to take.
Learning with Click Love Grow…
The course was so well set out, it covered a range of techniques with just the right amount of information.
Louise and Pam were fully available right throughout the course, and their feedback was invaluable.
The Advanced Grads Facebook group is fantastic! The members are supportive, they freely share tips and information, and it is so friendly!
Check out Megan’s before and after…
A very big thank you to Megan for your words and images!
