1. Newborns
Not the easiest of subjects but certainly newborn photography can be very rewarding when you nail it! And who can resist that squishy goodness? Try these tutorials to learn about the best way to position a newborn for the light, posing ideas, the best gear, settings, styling… and so much more. In fact our blog is a veritable treasure trove of newborn photography learning!
Macro photography is one of the most popular genres our Grads dive into once they’ve graduated from our Enthusiast Photography Course. Maybe it’s because their kids are over it by then… or maybe it’s just because macro opens up a whole exciting world of the miniature and close up!
Speaking of topics with endless talking points! Like newborns, young kids can be challenging to capture but with sound tech skills and some creative artistry up your sleeve it’s so worth the effort! Try these tutorials for some ideas on what to capture, how to get natural smiles, the best lenses for different situations, and how to freeze the motion of kids on the move for sharper shots!
We’re fortunate to have quite a few amazing food photographers in our midst in the Grad’s group! And what better subject to play around with in these times of lockdowns (or even just to have something to shoot which a) doesn’t run away b) you can shoot when it’s too cold to go outside and c) you can eat afterwards (bonus!). Luckily… we’ve got a bunch of fantastic food photography tutorials for you sink your teeth into!
One of the learning modules in our Advanced Photography Course takes a deep dive into colour theory, which is one of the easiest tools you can employ for really eye-catching, visually powerful images.
Have you ever tried to capture an incredible view, but your photo just didn’t convey the majesty of the scene as you saw it with your own eyes… and you have no idea what you did wrong? This incredible travel and landscape photography guide by CLG Advanced Grad Veraine Spiller takes a deep dive not only into every technical and creative aspect of the genre you could ever need to know to take incredible photos… but she also shows us side by side comparison shots of the same scene where one nailed it, and the other fell flat… and why!
If you’ve already mastered manual mode and you’re ready for the next creative challenge to up-level your skills, our Advanced Photography Course is for you… get all the details here!
